We are ready to support Christian projects that give meaning and purpose to human lives.
Can you tell us more about your foundation, its establishment, and the ideas and goals behind it?
The foundation was established by a group of people who strive to incorporate Christian values into their lives and seek to discover and live out God’s plan for their lives. This includes several entrepreneurs, spouses, and one professor. The idea for the foundation was conceived a little over a year ago. In our gatherings aimed at discovering and deepening our spiritual lives, we noticed that people around us—our friends, the community we live in—are increasingly alienated from one another and are searching for meaning, God, and a solid foundation to truly fulfill their lives. We felt called and capable of getting involved and doing something about it.
We observed that there are many organizations, communities, and individuals among us who successfully promote the values we cherish through their activities but lack the financial resources needed to better achieve their missions. It should be important for every person to evangelize and help as much as possible those around them on their journey to attain eternal life.
So we decided to establish the Rhema Foundation, whose main task is to support, encourage, and financially assist those organizations, communities, and individuals who are capable of doing this effectively and wholeheartedly, so that they can be as efficient as possible in their activities.
What motivated you to announce a tender for financial support for organizations and individuals promoting Christian values?
We have already supported several organizations and communities through similar funding in the past year. We believe there are many other organizations and individuals who are committed to the same values as we are in their activities. We wanted to reach out to them, and this tender aims to help us connect with them and potentially assist them in their work.
What are the main criteria for the tender? Are there any limitations in determining who will receive your financial support?
All participants in the tender must describe their past work and their activity plans for the following year. It is our Commission’s responsibility to evaluate and select those organizations and projects that we believe align most closely with the ideas and goals for which our Foundation was established. We would love to help everyone, but the budget will impose limitations. We are aware that we may not be able to assist everyone this year, but perhaps we will succeed next year.
What social activities do you consider important for promoting Christian values that Christians themselves have not recognized and do not adequately support financially and through prayer?
There are many good, indeed excellent, initiatives being carried out by various Christian-oriented organizations and individuals in Croatia. We were surprised to discover how many good projects are already in place but lack financial support when we began focusing on this in our Foundation. That’s why we have oriented ourselves toward helping those who are already engaged in this work.
Furthermore, such projects are often overlooked and insufficiently supported by the socio-political community in Croatia. We feel that neither the Church nor its institutions recognize or support these initiatives. Therefore, we feel called to do this, and we do it with great joy.
In conclusion, what would you like to say to those considering applying for your tender?
We encourage them to apply! Over the past year, we have supported about a dozen such projects. With this tender, we want to announce to the public that there is a Foundation in Croatia aimed at supporting, encouraging, and financially assisting projects that promote Christian values and provide people with the opportunity to give meaning and purpose to their lives. Many people are searching for such values, but increasingly encounter those who tend to go through life without touching the lives of those around them. Our Foundation wants to change that. We want to find out who else in Croatia is striving in the same way through this tender. We are confident that there are many. With this tender, we aim to connect them, support them, and financially assist some, while conveying that they are not alone, that there are many of us, and that we should not be afraid.
